Dentist, Babies, Parties 2-9-07

The Dentist, Babies and Parties

I really don't have much of interest to blog about. I feel like my life is somewhat boring lately aside from the day to day stuff we do. Tuesday did, however, mark a first for us. It was Landon's first trip to the dentist! My mom came up to make it even more special (she braved the blinding snow!). I went first so Landon could watch and the hygienist was so great with him...she let him push the button to move the chair back and when it was his turn to go she let him hold the sucky straw (AKA...Mr. Thirsty) the whole time and even let him pick out chocolate toothpaste (GROSS!). He was a tad unsure, but overall did fabulous. We celebrated by going to Target where he got to pick out a new coloring book and I found two wall hangings for his room that I have been eyeing for approximately 11 months...an airplane and a fire truck. They were originally $40 a piece and there was just no way we were going to spend that. As I was walking by the side aisle two prints caught my eye and sure enough it was those two...on sale for $9.99. No damage at all...perfect! I was so excited! I love it when the cat jumps my way like that! Then we went to Boston Market for lunch...thanks Mom! Brenn joined us so we had a very nice little lunch out!
Yesterday I watched baby Aiden again. Aside from the day being long, it went better than last week. I am still convinced that in just a few months my life is going to be totally consumed with meeting the needs of my two children...a baby and toddler/preschooler.  I guess that is what parenting is though, a constant decision to put your desires and needs behind those of your children...mainly bc a baby cannot feed itself nor change its own diaper, and a preschooler cannot (or in my case, should not) make his own pbj sandwich or pour his own milk. I realize I have a lot to learn in the way of selflessness...and I thought I had it down with one kid...guess not!
Tomorrow I am hosting a Silpada jewelry party. So far, out of like 13 invites, just a few are coming. It is somewhat depressing. I really wanted a good party for my cousin. Oh well...she is coming tonight so we get to spend the night together and hang out. Should be fun! So today I am spending doing laundry, cleaning the bathrooms, mopping the floors, and polishing the furniture. Oh yes...and trying to get my three year old to fork over the toilet brush and to not use all of the windex  ( I hope he does not have OCD  ).I will definitely be tired tonight!
Well...Bob the Builder is half over and that means I only have 14 more minutes to clean without the distraction...err, help of Landon. Have a great weekend friends!!!!!!
