I Have an addiction 4-5-07

I have an Addiction

EDIT: A few things: 1) I had contractions hard core for a little while last night. Hopefully they are doing SOMETHING. 2) Landon and I were playing yesterday and he was laughing hysterically until he fell over and hit his side on a digger truck at which time he began SCREAMING and rhything in pain. He never cries unless he is really hurt. It swelled instantly and I thought he broke a rib. But then I calmed myself down. I think he is fine...but I felt so badly bc it was kind of my fault. 3) There a bird on my porch that looks like she is going to freeze to death as she is pelted by snow showers. 4) Jonathan played Noah's Ark with Landon last night while I was at the store. Today, that is all Landon wants to do...so all of the cushions and pillows in my house are on my floor and every stuffed animal we own is inside of the ark. Too cute...but man will it ever take me awhile to clean up later this afternoon  5) Finally, I truly hope that each of you have a wonderful, wonderful Easter celebration with your families. You have blessed and encouraged me in so many ways this year. I thank my Lord for you!
Year 4 148Ok, I admit it. I am one of those moms who buys that extremely expensive Dreft detergent for my newborns. I only use it for a brief time, but the smell of that blessed liquid makes those baby clothes smell so babyish and perfect. Last night I got out all of Landon's old clothes, socks, bibs, hats, onesies, etc and washed them all in the Dreft. As I folded the clothes and began to place them in the newly empty dresser I was transported back 3.5 years ago to when I did the same thing for Landon. It doesn't seem possible that three whole years have passed. As I folded each article of clothing, I breathed in the smell of baby and it was Heavenly. If anyone wants to know what my babies smell like for the first two months of their lives, just go to the store, open a bottle of dreft, and drink in the smell (although I have to say that somehow the water mixing with the Dreft makes it smell a little better than the detergent alone). Already today, a few times, I have wandered into the baby's room, opened the top drawer, pulled out the tiny onesies and smelled them, dreaming of what this little one is going to feel like in my arms in a few short weeks.
My shopping trip yesterday was productive! I got nearly all of my essentials, and with the use of coupons, didn't have to spend too terribly much. It definitely helps to have all of Landon's old stuff. I had to buy VERY little for this child compared to what we had to get for Landon. Later, there is a swing I would love to have (the one we had for Landon was from a garage sale and it no longer works), and a sling (I hear those things are awesome especially when you have more than one child and need your hands free), and a bathtub (I hated Landon's and garage saled it). Pretty exciting.
Year 4 149Our grass is covered in snow today...at least two inches. Landon got a new truck yesterday (as an Easter present from my mom) and he is DYING to go out and dig dirt. DYING. Perhaps that is why he is so whiny this morning. He is driving me C-R-A-Z-Y. To top it off, he lost all movie/show priveledges for the day, so as horrible as it sounds, that is like a punishment to me as well as him  I cherish 11 to 11:30 when Bob the Builder is on.
So I am feeling a tad more ready for this baby. At least his clothes are washed and put away. I still don't have the crib up or any gear washed, but all in due time. I don't want to do too much too early bc that just makes the wating all that much more difficult. I know I have at least another 1.5 weeks....but I sure am glad I can smell those clothes whenever I want to now
Well, I have a dishwasher to unload, and reload, a shower to take, a child to get dressed, and a few errands to run. So I am off. Enjoy the day...as much as you can with this cruel, cruel visit of Old Man Winter.
