East Fun 4-9-07

Easter Fun

Year 4 158Friday evening my parents came over to celebrate Easter with us as well as to take Jonathan and I out for our birthdays. We had a very nice dinner of burgers and a special ice cream treat from Culver's....YUMM! It was so good that I just kept eating and eating despite the fact that I had banana split coming out of my ears. Jonathan had to literally (and forcibly) remove the remaining bites from in front of me or I definitely would have made myself sick. I had been craving a banana split forever...and it was a wonderful birthday present  My mom also took me to my favorite store and bought me two decorations for my hallways. I will post pictures once I have the project complete...which may be awhile since I need a few more accessories...but I am so excited about the idea I have in my head!!! That same evening (yes...we crammed a lot) Landon got to have an Easter egg hunt with my mom and get his Easter basket. All of which made him extremely excited. For days now he has been re-hiding the eggs himself and then "finding" them again and screaming with glee and delight upon every one. He is so funny.
Year 4 154Saturday we made our way to Jonathan's parents. Mom made a DELICIOUS Hawaiian chicken dinner for us (something else I have been craving and would die for again!). It was so good I could scarcely stop eating that either. That evening we watched The Nativity, which, among other things, made me very thankful that I live in modern day America. The whole time Mary traveled on that donkey 9 months pregnant and slept on the rocky floor...I felt so grateful for how easy we Americans have it. Lets not even mention the contraption that was rigged up for Elizabeth to give birth to John the Baptist. I will look at my hospital bed in a whole new light...
Sunday we had church and then another wonderful dinner made by my mother-in-law, who happens to be one of the best cooks I have ever met. I cannot tell you how wonderful it was to eat such delicious food that I did not have to prepare or cook at ALL!!! What a treat! After dinner we had cake to celebrate our birthdays...my first cake in some time! Landon loved the festivities! I got a BEAUTIFUL outfit for after the baby is born. I cannot wait to fit in it! Plus, Jonathan's grandma crocheted a GORGEOUS blanket for the baby that will make a beautiful heirloom and Jon's mom got the baby the softest little lovey blanket/toy that I have ever felt. I may be caught sleeping with it a time or two
There is something that I don't like about celebrating my birthday ON Easter. Like,  I feel some sort of guilt for sharing the day or something. Oh well...it won't happen again for 6 more years  In all, I had a wonderful birthday and Easter celebration and I am so thankful for both sides of our families that made our weekend so special. We love you guys!!!
P.S.....I really tried to get a good preggo pic to post...but due to a few factors such as being extremely rushed yesterday morning bf church and not liking my outift at all...I can't bring myself to post any of them. But I promise...one will be coming soon
