100 Questions Continued
What is my favorite place that I have travelled to? This one is easy. We went to Saint John in the Caribbean for our honeymoon. We did not have the money for it (although we went in August, which is the wayyy discount season) but looking back, we are so so so glad we did it. Landon came along so shortly after our wedding, and Jonathan just loves to travel, so had we not gone, I think Jonathan would be even more bothered by the fact that we can't travel anywhere. Anyway...gorgeous does not even do justice to that place. It is like 80% national forest, with mountains and the bluest water you can fathom. Our resort was very secluded and we had SEVEN private beaches to choose from. We spent our days lounging at the ocean and in the evenings we would take a "taxi" (an open truck) to the other side of the mountain where we could eat cheap and look around at the adorable little shops on the ocean. The vacation was the epitome of relaxation and I would recommend it 100 times over. The other part of this question is where do I dream of travelling? Hmm...lots of places. I have family in England that I have never met and I would love to go there and see where my grandma grew up. I would also love to go back to the caribbean. I always dreamed of going out west and I got to do that the summer before my sophomore year of college. I would love to go back there as well.
Ok, this one is a tad more difficult. If I could ask God one question what would it be? A few come to mind. Some I really can't talk about on here. I guess I would like to understand divorce better. My parents are divorced. If God hates divorce (and I believe He does) how is it that so many people who do it and then remarry seem so much happier and more fulfilled, and in many ways, even more effective for the cause of Christ. I know...God is gracious and forgiving, full or mercy and blessing. My step-dad is my hero. My step-sisters are some of my best friends...people I cannot imagine not having in my life. My sister Brenn, who is a child of my mom and step-dad wouldn't be here if they were not married. She is my little sister...a wonderful girl full of potential. My mom and step-dad have a beautiful marriage and are an example to many, many people. They compiment one another and serve one another, fitting together like a perfect hand-glove fit. I could go on and on, but I need to use caution with what I say. All of this to say, sometimes what is wrong, seems to be so much better than what is right (this is so the human condition!). Or perhaps the marriage was wrong in the first place...I don't know, I just don't fully understand. I know that people who make wrong choices can be blessed in the end. It isn't that I don't want to see them blessed and happy. I do. I am so thankful that my mom is happy and for the past 25 years has been married to the most selfless man I have ever known. I just want a better understanding on how it all works together.
What is my favorite room in my house? Wow. I don't know. I initially thought Noah's room becuase it is so bright and cheery. But I love Landon't blue room too, and it gets so bright and crisp in the afternoons. But man, to walk out in my living room as the sun is rising is like walking into a beautiful ocean sunrise (minus the ocean). We have a field in our backyard and the sun rises behind it and comes through all of our windows in the morning. I love it. I especially love it on spring and summer mornings when I have have the slider open and get to listen to the birds and feel the morning breeze and smell the beautiful fresh air. I guess I like my whole house. I can't choose one. Sorry!
Ok, I have to cut this short yet again. But here is a picture of my boys this morning. They were playing lions in their cave that we made out of cushions and blankets (go figure!). Noah was loving it just as much as Landon. They played for a good hour. Precious. I also included a few pictures of my hair for all of you that wanted to see it . Oh yes...and Landon FINALLY got a chance to go outside and ride his bike that he got for his birthday in OCTOBER!!! He looks so old...and cool. I can't take it.
This is a busy week. Tomorrow I am helping in Landon's class room. The theme is birds and so for snack I am attempting to make edible bird nests. We shall see how it goes. Tonight I also need to cut Landon's hair, and pack. For what? Well, one of my xanga friends gave me a promo code for a certain place. I hardly know this girl, but man did it come at a great time. I needed a small getaway...so tomorow after school we are leaving until Thursday. My mom and I (Jon couldn't get off) are taking the boys on a one night stay somewhere cool. I will tell you where when we get back (for the sake of safety of course ). So...I am gone until Thursday. Grad school started Monday as well. I will keep trying to answer your questions, time permitting. Thanks for asking. This is fun!
