So I am behind in my ogging ...in fact I have so many awesome pictures that I don't think I will ever have enough room to post them all!!! We have been busy beavers...as usual. Halloween went very well. Landon was SO excited to go trick or treating...and to wear his costume. I really enjoy it too. I love walking around nice neighborhoods in the dark, seeing tons of other families doing the same. I just find it fun. Landon was a rooster (much his father's dismay...Jon thought he looked ridiculous) and Noah was a monkey. Both were too cute in my mind. I drank Landon in as I knew this was the last year he will get the, "Oh, what a cute costume!" remarks for the rest of his life. From now on he will have to be something not so cute...bc he is a little too big for the cutsey stuff. Nothing scary...but something other than an animal most likely Anyway...we took the boys out and Noah loved riding around in his stroller. It was a tad windy and cold, but we got a good hour of action and had a fun little family time. I enjoy Halloween...I know, it is supposedly not a good holiday...or a holiday at all...but I don't enjoy it for the scary costumes or its origin. I enjoy it because as a family, we have a great time together trick or treating for that hour.
Friday I took the kids to this beautiful park to take some pictures of them. I had a very short window of time but got some GORGEOUS shots. I don't have room in this post for the pics, so maybe next time...but I will preview you with one of them It was the most gorgeous day...I am so glad we did it!
So last week was a huge week for grad school. I had a paper and an assignment and an entire book to read all before Friday. As a result, I had to go away in the evenings a lot. Jonathan got his first taste of two kids all by himself. He did amazingly well...and the kids survived too
This past weekend was our trip to Chicago. Jon's company pays for all of their employees to go to Chicago on the train once a year...they put us up in a hotel and take us to dinner. Last year we did a lot of group activities, this year we went to dinner with the group but opted out of the comedy club (bc last year it was the most blasphemous thing we had ever encountered!). Instead we went in search of a fun time just the two of us. Everything we tried...failed utterly and completely. Absolutely nothing worked out, but we had a great time anyway. A wonderful time in fact. We just walked around, got dessert and then went back to hang out together in the hotel room...relaxing with no kids Then yesterday we walked around some more, got breakfast, had coffee and chocolates, shopped, and then caught the train back last evening. I can't tell you how much I needed that break from the kids. I didn't even know how much I needed it. I have been a BEAR to live with lately and these past two days were exactly what Jonathan and I needed. I was actually nice and a joy to be around I feel refreshed and ready to tackle my life again.
Good thing too bc Noah is really sick. He was up most of last night coughing and his nose is completely clogged. Poor baby. This is the first time he is really sick. And he is a still a trooper...he doesn't seem unhappy or clingy or anything...just a little bit miserable, but he is still my wonderful happy (for the most part) little guy.
This weekend was my first time leaving Noah. I was a little apprehensive as both kids were a little sick when we left. Landon completely recovered while we were gone and my mom did such a super job with the boys. Not only did she watch them for us, she mopped my floors and vacuumed and cleaned the bathrooms for me. She really is super woman. Seriously.
This week is one of the busiest for grad school. I hope to remain sane and make it through to next Monday. I am debating about taking Noah to the doctor. I hate doing it for no reason or too early before something really develops. My mom thought he was getting better this weekend though and then last night took a turn for the worse. His cough sounds awful...I think I will take him just to be safe...
On that note...I need to get lunch made for Landon. Happy Monday (yeah right!) |
