Naughty Noah

June 08 026June 08 025Noah's verbal skills have exploded these last few days. Not that he is saying anything new that sounds like normal words...but he is constantly coming up to me or Jonathan and carrying on a full conversation in his own language. Pretty darn cute. His other great antic of the moment we have termed "Kamikaze". He gets something he knows he is not allowed to have, we come after him saying, "No, No" and he throws the object in one direction and runs as fast as he can in the other. Then there is the bulldozer. You know...the ride on type. Well, Noah does not want to ride on it...he wants to stand on it. Not the safest thing ever...and to be honest, I didn't even know that 13 month olds could balance on a surface as small as the seat of this thing. But Noah can. The kid is sure that he can do all that his 4 year old brother can. And he is so darn cute...

June 08 006Landon got his slip-n-slide out yesterday. Those of you who were around last year may remember how much he loved it then. Well, he loves it now too, but all the neighbor kids came over and also played on it. It is already broken...it only lasted a day. As I sat there watching them all play I struggled because it was the first time I had it out for Landon and I knew that it would probably break or get destroyed if the bigger kids played on it...but they were having so much fun. The selfish part of me didn't want them on it. But then I remembered how our possessions are meant to be shared and this was certainly bringing joy to some other kids...so I let them play on it. All evening. Its broken...but they had fun! Yesterday was a gorgeous day.

One other thing about Landon. My mom bought him his first pair of boxer shorts last weekend. Up until now he has worn regular old underpants. The kid LOVES his new underwear and has hardly taken them off since he got them. The first thing he said was, "Now I am just like a daddy!" So far, he is sleeping in them every night (wonder where he learned that from), but seriously...they need to be washed!

Tuesday I took the kids to a campground that had a water park. Noah completely missed his morning nap but was quite unaffected by it. If you have kids, you know how awesome this is! Or maybe I was just so impressed because with my number 1 that NEVER would have happened. We went with my neighbor and her three kids. I have to say that I am blessed with awesome neighbors. I am very close friends with three of them and good acquaintances with the rest. I love my little neighborhood!

Brenn's been staying with us for a few days. She has been a little sad...about the way life is working out (not quite how she wants)...you now, college age stuff. But she has provided tons of fun for my kiddos while here. They love her so... EDIT: Scratch that, she just got THE phone call she has been waiting for three days for. She is now on top of the world

Next week is my final exam for this diagnostic class and my first exam for my new class. It is also Jon's vacation week and his famiy is coming to stay on Thursday through Saturday. If you read between the lines, I won't be around much next week . To be honest, I am so relieved that I have made it through these 8 weeks of class. This was the most difficult class of the program...and I think I am going to make it through unscathed. And I had fun with my family. A celebration is in short order.

By the time Jon's family gets here, I will hopefully be free of the stress I have been under the past 8 weeks. I am excited to feel that freedom and I am excited to do some really summery stuff with them. We are going to go to the beach every day, get ice cream every night, hang out on the patio once all the kids are in bed, and celebrate Will's second birthday.

Hope you all have an absolutely wonderful week, if I don't "talk" to you before then. Take care!
