Joy in its simplest form 7-08

My cousin came up and stayed with us this weekend so that she and Landon could have a "sleep-over". We had such a wonderful weekend together! We surprised Landon and took him to a local amusement park. To say that he had fun would be such an understatement. It rained all of the way to the park, and with each passing mile I just kept praying for the rain to stop. Sure enough, as we pulled into the park, the clouds parted and the sun came out. It wasn't perfectly sunny all day, but never once did a raindrop fall on us! The weather was perfect, but even more so because it scared everyone away from coming into the park. We didn't have to wait in ANY lines. We got on and off the rides as much as we wanted. Landons favorites were the log ride, the bumper cars and the lazy river (included in admission is rights to the water park as well!). But his absolute thrill were the rollercoasters. Landon is my cautious child, but not when it comes to rollercoasters. He LOVES them. He went on everyone of them that he could for his height and even got on 2 adult sized ones. We did them over and over...and I really wish I could express to you the thrill and joy that was written all over his face all day long. It was beautiful, really. In fact, when we had to leave, I cried a few tears. I cried because I didn't want it to be over. I rarely get to see Landon as excited and happy as he was yesterday and it was so special for me to get to do something just for him and to watch him enjoy it so immensely. His attitude was beautiful all day (even when it was time to go) and I just had the time of my life ENJOYING my son. It was beautiful. But I forgot my camera (my one real regret for the day) so I can't even share with you any pictures. Suffice to say...Landon had a grin a mile wide all day long and there was a little light in his eyes that shone very brightly. I will never, ever forget the special time that we had..and I know he won't either.

I need to cut this short as I have some studying to do, but I wanted to leave you with a video. The other day Landon was going outside through the back door that leads into the garage. Noah followed him so as Landon turned around I heard him say to Noah, "You want to come too, Noah, ok, I will help you. Come here into my arms and I will help you down the stairs. Don't worry, I won't let you fall." And with that, Noah allowed Landon to "lift" him down the stair. He trusted him completely and it was beautiful to watch. I have not ever put a video on my xanga before, but this one is so heart-warming that I cannot resist. This is just one moment in time that I have caught my boys laughing together...a truly beautiful sound. I can guarantee you that if you are feeling at all down in the dumps, Noah's belly laugh will life your spirits. Oh how I love these boys...and oh how thankful I am that they have one another.
