Lite Brite Anyone 1-10-08

Lite Brite Anyone

Early January 001I bought Landon a Lite Brite for Christmas. I loved this as a kid, so I thought he might enjoy one too..and I thought it might quietly occupy him for awhile. I was right on all accounts! He loves it...so much that he only has two of the sheets left. I know...you can reuse them, but he really enjoys looking at the letters and matching the color to the letter...and it has the added bonus of greatly enhancing his letter recognition (I can't believe how many more letters he knows now!). Anyway...I went to buy some lite brite refill paper for him...and I can't find any ANYWHERE!!!!!!! I need refills for the flat screen lite brite (sold at Target for around $9). So...all of you mama's out there...HELP! Where can I find lite brite refills (I looked online, and the hasbro shop has them for $4, but with shipping it is around $8...and the lite brite itself only cost $9, so I don't really want to do that. Any ideas?!?!

Early January 004Ok, no I do not use the television as a babysitter...but in this rare moment even Noah was captivated by the clowns on tv. I thought it was so precious to see them staring intently...together.

This past week has been very quiet in my house which has been wonderful. Landon responded to the antibiotic within 24 hours and was a new kid...so all is well. Now if only we could keep it this way!!! Marla's horror story of her whole family having the flu has me fearful of the same...and now my sister-in-law has it too. This is the first time I remember knowing two different people who had the actual flu...hope that doesn't mean this is a horrible year for it or something. Especially because I have an 8 month old who I opted NOT to vaccinate against the flu. Anyway...

School starts on Monday...I can't believe how fast my time off went. I feel like I just blogged about my two week break...and now here I am on the verge of starting anew. Hopefully the class goes just as fast. This one involves statistics, validity, reliability...yuck. I hate anything math. Four more...I can do it.

When we took the tree down last weekend we rearranged out living room. I LOVE it! We opened up the room and it feels two times larger than it did. I love rearranging! We don't do it very often at all, namely because there are not that many ways to arrange things in relatively small living quarters, but when we do figure something out..it makes me very happy!

We are back to deciding between preschool, kindergarten or young fives for Landon for next year. Registration is in just a few weeks. His birthday falls at the end of October, and the cut-off is December 1. While he makes that date, most recommend waiting a year to put him into kindergarten for social and emotional reasons. We don't want him to be bored by waiting a year but we don't want to put him in too early either. Any advice?

Well, my kiddos need me. Off to the daily grind
