Noah Bday 5-13-08

Noah's Birthday 017Noah's Birthday 018Noah's party went well this weekend. I decided to do a Noah's Birthday 014 Backyardigan theme because I think they are so super cute and brightly colored little creatures. Landon has gotten the dvd's from the library a few times so Noah has some concept of them...but really, I chose them because they are so cute!!! The cake pan was sold out so I made a double layer round cake with huge polka dots in Backyardigan colors. It turned out...and Noah thought it was delicious. He was a tad fussy throughout his party...but oh well. Neither of my children seem to do well when there are lots of people around. I am getting better at letting this roll off my shoulders. I just wish everyone could see him in his normal glory

Noah's favorite present was a kid's garden spade. He has been playing with mine every time we go outside and it wasn't too terribly safe. So my sister, Brenn, got him a kids metal spade with a giraffe on the end of it. It was the first gift he opened...and the only. He loved it so much he never put it down. Landon got to open the rest of his gifts

On to other things...Jonathan has taught Landon how to play chess. This morning Landon was playing with play-doh and as I walked past the table I noticed he had cut the playdoh into small pieces and lined them up. When I asked him what it was...he said he was playing chess. Wow. He is a die hard fan apparently....even playing chess with his playdoh.

Noah's Birthday 002I am sad about the lack of nice weather we have had. It has Noah's Birthday 005been a cool spring...and the 10 day forecast holds nothing over 60. Sad. I am dying for some really warm weather. On that note, I am putting a picture of our finished landscaping in here so you can see it...or at least a portion of it. I love it.

My new class started Sunday. This is the BIG one. The hard one. I think that despite it being difficult it will be really interesting. In eight weeks time I will know everything about every emotional/psychological disorder that exists. I will know them like the back of my hand. That is kind of exciting....at least for me

Somebody (was it jbynygaard) wanted me to post a picture of the tulips. Unfortunately all I could get was this one with Landon jumping like a crazy man. We were down at the festival three times...but our camera is not consistently working...so this is all I have.

My heart has been heavy for so many people lately. I will share more on this hopefully soon. For now, I need to do a little reading and get to bed. Landon has school in the morning which always makes for craziness.
