The Zoo...in November?!?!?

The Zoo...in November???

falls end 006falls end 011I posted a full post yesterday...all I had to do was add pictures...and then one or both of the kids needed something...and while I was away from the computer it restarted spontaneously...and I lost my entire post. I had to chuckle, because it is just my luck...and there was no time left to redo it yesterday...so I will try again today
This has been a crazy week.  Monday was gorgeous so Landon I worked outside until Noah woke up from his nap and then we all went out. It was lovely and I am so sad that nice weather is gone. So sad.
falls end 021Tuesday we met my dad (my real dad) at the zoo for Landon's birthday. It was supposed to be the last really nice day of the fall and I could not stand to waste it inside, so we agreed on the zoo. It was gorgeous and the animals were all out...bears, lions, warthogs...and there were hardly any people there. Landon got to feed goats (who knew they liked leaves?) and he and Maria (my dad's adopted 2 year old daughter) got to play on a lifesize climbable wooden train. That was probably Landon's favorite part...considering the train lover that he is an all  He loved it.falls end 014Afterwards, we went to lunch at Applebees and he and Maria played with his present from my dad (a Batmobile). After this long morning I was on my way home when Amy called. I was telling her about my day at the zoo and we then were discussing how I was right near where she was...and that evolved into meeting at some random field for a photoshoot for the kids. I have been wanting pictures of them  so while we skipped nap that day, it worked out great to get pictures done on the last beautiful day of the fall. I can't wait to see the CentennialPark 001pictures...the ones I saw on her camera were breathtaking...oh I am so excited! Landon did great...I am sure she got some awesome ones of him. Noah...who is usually all smiles...was way too distracted by the leaves and grass to smile. All he did was eat everything he get his hands on...good thing he is just plain cute, even with leaves crammed into his mouth
Wednesday Landon had a fieldtrip to a gymnastic facility with his class. When I picked him up I surprised him with a birthday card from Aunt Kelly that had $10 in it. He got to go to Target and choose something to buy with his money...and he chose a wrecking ball. Since then, that thing has been knocking everything down in my house...blocks, books, you name it. Before we had the wrecking ball, he was using a necklace made out of noodles which he hung from the window opener as his wrecking ball. This is definitely an upgrade...plus the new one makes destroying noises when it hits things. The kid loves it. In fact, he has slept with it at the foot of his bed since he got it.
Speaking of playing....for the past week Landon and I have been playing "Mr. Fix-it". For his birthday Nana (Jon's mom) and Aunt Angela got him a kids workbench with tons of tools. So we have fixed the couch, kitchen table, chairs, cushions, step stools, walls, Noah's crib...you name it, Mr. Fix it has been there. Great gift! He loves it!
Two nights ago I was giving Noah the end of his antibiotic and I felt the tip of the dropper hit something hard in his mouth. I stuck my finger in there to be sure...and yep...there is a tiny little white tooth sticking through that bottom gum. I can't believe it. He really is growing up
Last night I met my friend for dinner. She has been my friend since high school...and I love it that we are still so close even though so much about our lives have changed. I love it that she knows me so well. I love familiar friends. We had a very deep, therapeutic, real talk. I greatly enjoyed it.
I have so much swirling in my head, but alas, life is happening and I just dont have time to blog about it right now. Maybe next time? Thanks for all of your comments on my sweet, little Noah  Have a most wonderful weekend friends!!!
