Wow. When I decided to post that last entry, I had absolutely NO idea the response that I would get. I usually sit down and really think through my posts before putting them up, but the last one I just randomly put together while the kids were running around me. I hit submit, hardly thinking what the response may or may not be. I LOVED it. I absolutely loved "meeting" so many of you that I previously had no idea were reading my blog and I even got reaqcuainted with some old friends. So thank you so much for stepping out and commenting! Feel free to do it again sometime, but if not...that is fine too...now that I know who you are, I am fine with you lurking about
Lets see. As usual, my brain is going a million miles a minute and my body can't keep up. I think the stress of life finally got to me this past weekend as I haven't been feeling very well. I think I need a vacation, which is a good thing because Saturday morning we leave for the airport to fly to Florida. We are going to see my sisters and have my niece's 1st birthday as well as enjoy a family vacation in a super nice resort compliments of Tupperware (my mom has a convention down there). Should be a nice, relaxing trip. I am just praying that the kids stay healthy and we can all actually relax while away.
The last few weeks have been such a whirlwind. Last week Wednesday through Saturday, Jonathan was gone working on a project, so I was basically a single mother. Throw Noah going through a horrendous sepearation anxiety stage and you had one distraught mother...ME! Saturday we had a huge neighborhood cook-out so I made cookies and baked beans and headed down there around 3pm. I got home at midnight (with a few previous trips home to get the kids to bed, etc). Sunday I was gone all afternoon/evening working on grad school (bc when Jon was gone I got nothing done) and Monday morning, early, I headed down to my mom's to set up for the garage sale. We went to bed after midnight that night, and got up early Tuesday mornig for our sale. Tuesday we had a lot of traffic, but Wednesday we didn't have too many people come through. I am, however $180 richer than when I started...so I am glad I did it. I got home late last night with the kids and today involves running lots of errands, packing and going away tonight to work on my last 10 page paper for this class. I have a feeling that I will not get it done, which means finishing it in Florida. I am not too happy about that, but I did the very best that I could with the time that I have had.
Yesterday, my mom brought Noah out to the garage dressed up in one of my Little House on the Priairie dresses (I was a huge fan as a kid!). He could have easily passed as a girl. That is, until he started banging things with every stick-like object that he could find and knocking everything off of the tables. That kid is boy through and through.... Anyway...as much as he will hate that I did this someday, I am going to do it anyway. Here are a few pictures of Noah...in my future daughter's dress
. Notice the look on his face...I don't think he was too fond of my mom putting him in a dress!!!!!!
Landon handed me something earlier this week and said, "Here ya go, Princess!" I wonder where in the world he got that from? But I have to say that I agree. My favorite season is flying through my fingers. I have so much I want to do before it is gone! And yet as much as I try to treasure every moment, they just keep going by so fast! We get home from Florida on Sunday and on Tuesday we have company coming in (a xanga friend!) until Friday. Hopefully while they are here we can do lots of summery fun stuff (you know...all my faves...the beach, ice cream, a bonfire...I notice a theme of food there). Suffice to say...we are busy, but then again, I am thankful that we can be. We live a blessed, rich life and I am truly thankful.
So...adios...goodbye....talk to you all in a little over a week! But first...here is a random picture from the other day. Landon was turned around on the couch talking to me and while he was doing that, Noah planted himself between Landon's legs and lounged backwards on him. Jon snapped a picture because it was pretty precious. Speaking of...Noah added another word this week...actually three words...dog (which sounds more like das...he tries to say dogs without the G), Prince (the name of my parents dog...which Noah actually is petrified of) and the biggest word of all....GRANDMA. He can say that one as clear as day...and he wowed everyone at my mom's as he would go around the house or to the front door and call her with all of his little might. That kid loves his grandma every bit as much as his older brother does. And I say it again...we are so very, very blessed.
Ok, goodbye for real. Have a wonderful week!
