The Big Day 4-8-08

The Big Day

April 015Well, I have to preface this entry by stating how sad my heart was yesterday. I REALLY, REALLY wanted to go to the xanga palooza, but alas, for many reasons it just wasn't in the cards for me. Just about every option I thought of to get down there, in the end, hit a road block. So I didn't go. But I can't wait to see pictures and hear about it! I know you all had a blast.

To cheer me up last night, Jonathan surprised me and brought home Qdoba for dinner. We rarely eat out during the week (or the weekends lately...thanks to Jonathan's culinary talents!), and if we do eat out, we discuss it first. So him popping in the door with a bag of hot food was a total surprise...and he even brought chocolate chip cookies for dessert. Definitely made me a bit sprightlier.

Today is my birthday and I woke up to the smell of my favorite bagel and coffee. Jonathan stayed up late last night baking me a cake (which we get to eat tonight) and then got up early to surprise me with my favorite bagel shop breakfast. It was DELISH. A very nice, unexpected surprise, and it meant even more because he was up so late frosting my cake and then got up even earlier to go get me breakfast. Tonight he is cooking me a gourmet meal (from the ingredients he bought...it sure looks to be gourmet) and then we get to enjoy the chocolate made-from-scratch cake for dessert. He did a great job making me feel loved this year. His birthday is Saturday...how will I ever live up?!?!?

Well, last week Noah learned to walk and this week he is running. Seriously. I can't keep up. On top of that, my wonderful-natured baby has turned into a screaming toddler. When he doesn't get what he wants or if I tell him "No", he screams that I-am-so-mad-scream at me. I hate it. He is way too young for this. I don't even know what to do. I tell him no, and have even brought him back to his room a few times when he does it, but he doesn't get it. He is certainly being defiant though. He is not even 11 months yet, what in the world? I am so not ready for this. Landon has become so easy (compared to the previous years of his life) and now Noah is just starting in. Let the games begin.

I think I blogged a few weeks ago (or maybe it was a comment discussion on someone else's site, I can't remember) about not knowing how to get Noah to drink from a sippy. Well, that certainly took care of itself. The kid loves his sippy cup now. It makes him very happy. I haven't given him milk yet, but if he likes it, then weaning should be no problem.

My sister wanted to see a picture of Noah's teeth...hence the picture. Nevermind his messy little face...we were just finishing up lunch with some yummy grapes .

I think that is about it for today. Can we have another xanga palooza sometime this summer? I would gladly host it, but since I live five hours north from most of you...this is probably not the most likely spot. I will plan it though...please, I really want to come!!!!
