Oh Brother 6-2-08

Do you ever feel so behind on your blog that you just don't even know where to start? I am there. Wow. Well, lets start with last week. I had such a great time with Marla and Jamie and their kiddos. I was all set for some chaos (seven kids pretty much ensures that), but it never really happened. We went the the dunes and the beach and out for ice cream. We went to the park twice, had a picnic, grilled out. My parents came up the last evening and we had a bonfire and smores and ice cream sundaes. It was a blast! They are so lovely...and I really enjoyed getting to know both of them better, along with their kids. Their kids, by the way...are awesome. I don't have any pictures to post bc our computer is still dead. A new hard drive is on the way...but Jonathan bought some software to recover our files and I think we will get most of them back (PTL!!! All of our pictures from Landon's birth until now along with all of my grad files were on there!). Anyway...to see pics of my time with them go here or here and scroll back a few posts to the pictures. They did a great job explaining their time here in-depth and included lots of fun pictures . LOVED my time with them!

They left early Monday morning, a few hours later my mom called with news that my grandpa had a heart attack. He was in the hospital for a few days but is now home recovering. He is 85 and has many blocked arteries. He also has alzheimers and gets very anxious in the hospital (not remembering why he has to stay there). My parents take care of my grandparents and there are many issues involved. So something like this takes the expected amount of stress and then some on my poor parents. Anyway...for now, he is home, which is good. Thank you for your prayers, friends!

My trip to Maine was busy but beautiful. We had lots of fun times, brides maids brunch, breakfast at a cute little cafe the morning of the wedding, fun times after the rehearsal and the wedding...wow. She had it at an old inn on a hillside (almost like a mountain). The weather was sunny and 60's...and the setting was just gorgeous. The reception was at the same place but under a white tent...gorgeous! The wedding party was a blast and we just had a wonderful time. Megan was gorgeous...I have to say that it brought me great encouragement and joy to watch as she received her husband from the Lord. Her desire of her heart...I had the privilege of watching it be fulfilled and it was...very encouraging. I am so so so happy for them.

The boys did ok while I was gone, although Friday night Jonathan had to take both kids to urgent care by himself bc Landon got a really bad ear infection. The doctor told Jonathan that Landon's ear drum was about to burst. I felt so bad for Landon but I was so glad that Jonathan knew to take him in. By the time I got home on Saturday all was well and it was so good to be reunited with my family!

On funny story...I just have to post this! Wednesday morning my sister Brenn was in charge of the boys. She slept on my couch and set her alarm for 7 and stayed up until 7:30 (I told her that Noah would wake up sometime around then). She fell back asleep until 9 when my mom got here! My mom heard Noah whining so she went in to get him and found Landon in there. Landon had filled Noah's crib with books and toys and had even gone and gotten the cereal out of the cupboard and put like 200 of the them in the crib for Noah. I thought this was hilarious! Who knows how long Noah had been up (or both boys for that matter), but it didn't matter bc Landon was watching out for his little brother. Brenn felt awful, but I thought it was precious how Landon had tried to take care of Noah. I love my boys...and Brenn, I think you are an awesome Aunt. Brenn posted about her experience here.

Lest this post get too terribly long (which I have heard is usually the case with my blogs?!?! ), I will end it. Thank you for your prayers and encouragement and support. I am home now but I have 200 pages of reading, two assignments, and a midterm all due this week. I could still use the prayers.
